Would you like to be apart of the project?

I’m searching for Black Vietnam Veterans in Birmingham Alabama; Tuskegee, Alabama; Chattanooga, TN; South Carolina and Charlotte, NC for photoshoots in 2023. There is an urgent need for Black women who served in Vietnam as nurses and volunteers. Each veteran receives two a high-resolution color jpeg file of their picture for participation in the project.


I’m also in need of an exhibition space to display the portraits: a museum, gallery, or university. The exhibition portraits are 30 X 40 black & white canvas prints. The pictures will remain in the state for future exhibitions.

The states that will be visited includes: Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Florida, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee, Mississippi, Kentucky, Louisiana, Alabama, Texas, Arkansas, New York, California, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C area.

The goal is to photograph 30 to 50 Black Vietnam Veterans in each state, exhibit the photographs in the community, and leave the photos in the city.
